Progress…

February 27th, 2008

The current iteration of my cure-yeast-naturally.com site is complete. I have my name squeeze in place and I’m running an adwords campaign for a few days to see how it goes. I’m getting about 20% signups so far but I’m going to wait until I have 200 visits to make any sort of decision about what to do next. I have a few ideas that are bubbling away in the back of my mind.

I’ve also got makeup-discounters.com about 80% finished. I’ve got the whole eBay connection going and I’ve got some tutorials up. I’d like to expand the tutorials but it becomes a page loading time issue so I think I’m going to have to have several pages of tutorials to keep the loading time of any one page in the realm of what’s acceptable.

Onward and upward!

Symmetry

February 26th, 2008

I was putting away my clean laundry last night and I was very pleased that all my socks matched up perfectly. The symmetry of it all was very satisfying and I started wondering why it is that we are so drawn to symmetry.

So Much To Do…

February 19th, 2008

Joanie is feeling a bit better and getting over her latest bout of antibiotics.

I’ve got the new look and feel up at cure-yeast-naturally.com and I should have the five day min-course in place tonight so I can start my name squeeze campaign. I’ve also got to do some more pages optimized for my keyword phrases.

Then it will be time to get makeup-discounters going. There’s a cool new eBay widget that I want to put to good effect. I have a feeling that site is going to take daily maintenance to really do it right.

I got Bob and Pearl going. At least everything is working. I’ll need to go back and do some more “how to” lessons.

The Work

February 13th, 2008

The cure-yeast-naturally.com site has been redone. I believe this is the first major re-design of the site. Pretty much cut and paste, but now I am going to study it more closely and apply the principals to my other sites. I’ve got the five day mini course waiting in the wings for this weekend when I’ll be ready to set up a real autoresponder. The free one was as bogus as feared.

I think I need to concentrate on the makeup-discounters site next and focus on video. So much to do!

Name Squeezes and Autoresponders

February 12th, 2008

I love this whole name squeeze and autoresponder deal!

I’m redoing cure-yeast-naturally with this and I’m excited about adding it to all my other sites. Let’s see what happens!

A New Point of View

February 11th, 2008

I’ve been reading the Mass Control stuff from Frank Kern and I really like what he says. I’ve decided to revamp all of my sites into his business model. The emphasis in on list building by giving away free information in return for an email address. Then use the free information to pre-sell for an affiliate product.

I think this approach is a good one and can be adapted to all of my existing sites and I can see how it is a good approach for any market.

Homecoming

February 7th, 2008

Joanie is coming home today from the care facility. We’re hoping that the familiar surroundings will perk her up and help her focus better on where she is and what’s going on. All we can do is try and see what happens. My heart goes out to her and to her family as this is tough on everyone.

I replaced all the burned out bulbs in her house with compact fluorescents. I don’t know if the house has wiring issues or if the bulbs were simply old, but it seems like I’ve had to replace a lot of bulbs in the last few months.

The slugs were ravaging my garden so I was forced to put out snail bait and it seems to have stopped the problem.

I’ve been reading the free stuff from Mass Control and it’s given me a few ideas about reconfiguring my internet marketing efforts so I plan to start working on that today and hope to have most of it in place by the end of this weekend.

The new monitor I ordered for Bob and Pearl tracks for delivery on Friday so it looks like I could have a pretty busy weekend.

Qualified Vendors

February 6th, 2008

So the extra RAM I ordered for my new system turned out to not be compatible with my Asus motherboard. Who’d a thunk it? I thought RAM compatibility issues went away years ago. Anyway, NewEgg seems to be cool about it and I got an automatic return authorization. Now I’ve got to wait for a sale on the RAM that is compatible for my MB.

It’s always something…

Some you win, some you lose, some you do over.

February 1st, 2008

The good news is that I was able to get Bob and Pearl’s new (used) computer up and running and connected to the net via their wireless router. The bad news is that the new (used) monitor I bought for them has a vertical line of dead pixels running across it. I sent an email to the seller and got a favorable response. I expect a full refund (less shipping costs). It could be worse. I ordered another new monitor today and so hopefully this will be resolved by next week and they will be good to go.

Shannon called me last night and told me that she is quitting the Newport Five and moving back East! What a shock. Tammy is going to be the new manager and that will be interesting. Tammy never ceases to amaze me.
