One day when I was in college, I was walking across campus and I stopped to listen to a guy who was speaking to a crowd. Your basic man on a soapbox deal. He was, in one way of looking at things, espousing a “religious extremist” message, but he was also talking about philosophical issues that I was studying at the time so I was interested in what he had to say.
He had many interesting things to say, but one that really stuck with me was his take on commitment. Basically, he said if you weren’t willing to die for your beliefs, then you’re just a dilettante and you lack commitment.
That word, that idea… commitment…has become a key idea for me at times.
When I’m faced with a new challenge, it always seems that I end up asking myself what my level of commitment is. How much am I willing to commit to meeting the challenge?
It’s rarely and easy question to answer.

I got a text message from someone and I don’t know who it is. Which is weird, because I very rarely give my cell phone number to anyone. What makes it doubly weird is that they asked if I wanted to meet them at the 5 for a drink, so that makes it someone I know from there. I wasn’t able to make it when they originally sent the message, so I’ve decided that I’m going to go to the 5 tomorrow night and send them a message asking if they’d like to have a drink.

The deeper I get into learning about the “Product Launch” way of doing things, the more I realize how little I’ve understood about it from the beginning and how almost everything I thought I knew about Internet marketing was wrong.
I used to think the reason for putting up a site was to sell something. Man, what a mistake that was.
The reason to put up a site is to give things away and make friends.
And the more I think about it, the more I realize that while this idea isn’t quite what Ed Dale’s Thirty Day Challenge was all about, it does speak to the deeper meaning of what he’s been talking about all along with the “great content” idea.
The funny thing is that I spent Friday night writing a new post for my make-a-resume.org site and today I realized how wrong it was and I redid not only that post, but the whole site!
The Product Launch Formula isn’t just about launching products, it’s a whole approach to Internet Marketing. It’s really what all these guys have been talking about all along.

I was listening to the radio this morning on my way to work and Hulk Hogan was the phone in guest on Kevin & Bean and they were asking him how he has been able to maintain his career and celebrity for so many years and he attributed it to a positive attitude and he he said “What you think about, you bring about” and that really hit me.
I think he’s right.
And it’s not some sort of cosmic bullshit. If you allow yourself to dwell on negative thoughts, then you’re living in a negative world and you’re not going to be open to the good things around you and the positive influences that can make your life better.
The power of positive thinking is real.
